Sneak peek inside The Curiosity Shop, the quirky new bar in Lincoln

What’s inside The Curiosity Shop?

For weeks, the former Kind bar on High Street has been bustling with mysterious activity. Unusual objects were delivered after dark, workers buzzed through the building and trunks of mystery treasures teased window shoppers.

Now, at the start of the Christmas market weekend, The Lincolnite has been granted an exclusive sneak peek of the building’s transformation into a unique antique shop and bar.

Signage was finally revealed for The Curiosity Shop on the morning of Friday, December 8, giving the first glimpse of the new business.

The bar has undergone a major £200,000 investment and creates ten new jobs.

Unlike the average Lincoln bar, the time-warped bazaar purveys a selection of “antiques & apothecary, tonics & tinctures” available to purchase.

It’s an antique shop with a nighttime persona, explained the shop’s captain ‘The Shopkeeper’.

“The shop will open its doors for the first time tonight at 8pm (Friday, December 8).

“You’ll find us at 266 The High Street. People will be intrigued as they approach and pleasantly surprised when they enter.

“The Curiosity Shop is what it says on the tin, a shop that sells antiques & apothecary, tonics & tinctures, fine wines and remedies for your soul. You’ll leave with a bigger smile than you entered with, that’s our promise.

“We have a curious collection of over 100 different gins for sale by the bottle, quirky collections, art, and some stunning leather goods.

“People can of course also purchase exemplary cocktails, some incredible wines by glass or by bottle, and great beer.”

Final preparations are ongoing behind the scenes of the shop and it’s expected that doors will open at 8pm.
