Lincoln Christmas Market 2017 officially open

Lincoln Christmas Market has opened for its 35th year.

Lincoln Christmas Market has opened for its 35th year.

Crowds gathered at 12pm on Thursday, December 7 to be the first to enter the castle gates for this year’s christmas market.

Lincoln Christmas Market will run until Sunday, December 10 and it is expected some 250,000 people will attend throughout the four-day event.

For those wishing to attend, here at the opening times:

  • Thursday, December 7: 12pm – 9.30pm
  • Friday, December 8: 10am – 9.30pm
  • Saturday, December 9: 10am – 9.30pm
  • Sunday, December 10: 10am – 7pm

Extra security measures will also be in place this year.

As well as the usual road restrictions and policing, there will be an armed police presence in response to recent UK terror incidents.

Alongside armed policing teams, visitors will also notice an increase in counter-terrorism action such as extra road blocks and drones.
