A man will appear at Lincoln Magistrates Court today accused of murdering 29-year-old Gareth Bailey from Ingoldmells.

Officers were called to a property on Chapman Court just before 2.30am on the morning of Wednesday, December 6, after reports of a man seriously injured.

He was pronounced dead a short time later.

The victim has been officially named as Gareth Bailey from Igoldmells

Lincolnshire Police officially named the victim as Gareth Bailey, who lived in Chapman Court.

Two arrests have been made since the death.

Thirty nine-year-old Steven Feeley of Winthorpe, Skegness has been charged with murder and will appear before Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on Friday, December 8.

A woman in her 20s has been released from police custody but remains under investigation while police look into the circumstances of the incident.

Family devastated

Detective Inspector Hodgson of the East Midlands Special Operations Unit, says: “While we have now charged a man with this offence, our enquires will continue.

“Gareth’s family and friends remain devastated by his death and we are continuing to support his family and keep them informed.

“At this difficult time I ask the media to respect the family’s wishes and to give them time to grieve.

“This was an isolated incident, I would like to thank the local community who have given us information and it isn’t too late to help our investigation.”
