Police appeal after man assaults schoolgirl in Deeping St James

A description has been released of the man.

A man has reportedly assaulted a 15-year-old schoolgirl in Deeping St James.

The attack happened while the girl was walking along Linchfield Road in the village between 4.30pm and 4.45pm on Tuesday, December 19.

Lincolnshire Police have said the man grabbed the girl’s arm as they passed while walking in opposite directions.

The girl was able to kick out and run off but was left frightened by the incident.

She was not injured.

Police have said the man is described as aged around 30, of medium build, and wearing a black coat.

Inspector Ian Martin, community policing inspector for The Deepings, said: “This is an unusual incident and we are keen to speak to anyone who was on Linchfield Road and may have information that will help.

“We have not received any further reports and believe this to be an isolated incident.

“If you think you may be the man involved in this incident, or you are a witness please call on 101, quoting crime reference 297 of December 19.”
