Stamford inventor creates gigantic Star Wars TIE fighter… and you can see it for yourself

A fully working BB-9E has also been built.

Madcap Stamford inventor Colin Furze has outdone himself by building a life-size Star Wars TIE fighter at Burghley House.

Colin, who last year created a 5.5m AT-ATC playhouse, has this year created a 46ft long, 23ft wide and 14ft high TIE fighter.

The TIE fighter is on display at Burghley House in Stamford from Saturday, December 2 to Sunday, December 10.

Colin himself will be there on December 10 to meet visitors and grab selfies.

This comes ahead of the new Stars Wars film: The Last Jedi, which is due to be released on December 15.

Colin said: “This was an eBay project so everything was sourced from their site to bring this monster together.

“To complete the ship James Bruton has made a fully working BB-9E so this is just a Star Wars feast and you can come see it yourself.”
