Train fire between Peterborough and Grantham causes travel chaos

The fire happened this morning.

A train fire between Peterborough and Grantham is causing delays and cancellations on the the railways this morning.

Trains may be delayed by up to one hour or cancelled altogether as a result of the fire which happened before 10am on Thursday, December 7.

The train has been evacuated as a precaution.

There has been a fuel leak on a service at Helpston, just north of Peterborough.

National Rail has said that disruption is expected until 11.45am.

East Midlands Trains, Virgin Trains East Coast, Grand Central, and Hull Trains are affected.
