A weather warning has been issued by the Met Office for spells of heavy snow across Lincolnshire on the Sunday of Christmas Market weekend.

A yellow warning is in place between 4am and 11.55pm on Sunday, December 10.

The Met Office Chief Forecaster said: “A spell of heavy snow is possible over some central parts of the UK during Sunday.

“This could lead to road, rail and air travel delays, with the potential for vehicles to become stranded or public transport to be cancelled. Rural communities with limited access routes could become cut off.”

There are also warnings in place for snow and ice in neighbouring counties across Friday and Saturday, when in Lincolnshire it is expected to be cold with occasional wintery showers.

Top temperatures are expected to be around 4 °C.
