Body found in river search for missing Lincoln man Michael Hull

Formal identification is underway.

Lincolnshire Police have confirmed that a body has been found by the underwater search team in the River Witham.

Officers believe it is that of missing Lincoln man Michael Hull (25), though a formal identification has yet to be carried out.

The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time.

Lincoln man Michael Hull went missing after a night out in the city.

Superintendent Lee Pache said: “Our underwater search team found a body this morning in the River Witham.

“Formal identification needs to take place but we believe this to be Michael Hull.

“We are not treating this as suspicious at this stage and we ask that his family’s wishes for privacy are respected.”

Police and underwater search teams tapped off an area of the river this morning near to Gaunt Street, where he was last seen in the early hours of Saturday after going on a night out on Friday. He left the Home nightclub and was not seen since.
