England football legend Paul Gascoigne will speak about his glittering career when he comes to Skegness in May, with fans having the opportunity to go home with some unique signed memorabilia.
Gazza will be hosting an evening at the Embassy Theatre on Thursday, May 31.
He will meet fans, pose for photographs and give an in-depth interview recapping his 19-year career, from when he was a teenager at Newcastle United through to his short stint at Boston United.
Gazza is perhaps best known for famously crying after being given a yellow card in the 1990 World Cup semi-final against West Germany, meaning he would have missed the final.
England of course lost on penalties.
Six years later, Gazza scored one of the most memorable goals ever scored at Wembley against Scotland at Euro 96, and was a pivotal member of the team which again was knocked out on penalties against the Germans.
Gazza helped Tottenham Hotspur win the 1991 FA Cup, although his role in the final was shortened when he was stretchered off after fouling Nottingham Forest defender Des Walker.
His career arguably never fully reached the same heights after this injury, despite spells in Italy with Lazio and north of the border, where he won two league titles and two trophies with Rangers.
Following his retirement, Gazza’s struggles have been well-documented, particularly his alcoholism and troubles in his personal life.
