At least 33 trees down across Lincolnshire roads due to strong winds

Avoid these roads if you can.

Lincolnshire Police have received at least 33 reports of trees obstructing roads in the county this morning.

Reports came in to the force between 4.20am and 6am on Thursday, January 18. Strong winds battered the county overnight.

A crane was used i Leadenham and Fulbeck to remove trees from the road.

There have been no injuries reported at the time of writing.

As of 6am, incidents where trees had blocked or partially obstructed roads were:

  • 50 – A607 – Fulbeck
  • 52 – Cross O’Cliffe Hill, Bracebridge Heath
  • 53 – B1356 Spalding
  • 55 – Wainfleet St Mary
  • 60 – West Rd, Bourne
  • 61 – B1177 – Bourne
  • 62 – A52 Swineshead
  • 63 – A17 – Sutterton
  • 70 – A158 – Horncastle
  • 71 – Woosthorpe
  • 76 – Quadring
  • 78 – Denton
  • 79 – Penny Hill, Holbeach
  • 80 – Morton, Bourne
  • 81 – B1188, Dorrington
  • 82 – A15 Bourne
  • 83 – Doddington

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning until 9am, predicting very strong winds.

Forecasters warned that road, rail and ferry services mat be affected.
