Plans for animal crematorium north of Gainsborough

Plans have been submitted.

Plans have been submitted for a pet crematorium on agricultural land four miles north of Gainsborough.

The proposals would see the crematorium built on land at Burnt Bridge Farm, Carr Lane.

Built on 0.51 hectares of farm land, the animal crematorium named ‘Southern Sky’ would create one full-time and one part-time job.

Agents Keystone Architecture, speaking on behalf of the applicants, said: “There is a shortage of privately owned animal crematoriums in Northern Lincolnshire, offering services for commercial (vets and farms) and private (domestic) customers.

“The new building will be located well away from the highway and residential buildings, and has been designed to minimise the visual impact when viewed from the private drive.

“The building shall be purpose built to accommodate the specialist furnaces, storage and vehicle access, with provisions for an office, toilets and meeting room.”

Plans will be discussed at West Lindsey District Council at a later date.
