Police officially name Grimsby murder victim

He died earlier this week.

Humberside Police have officially named the 45-year-old man who died in Grimsby following an assault.

Tony Richardson, known as Tosh, died in hospital after the attack outside the Halifax Bank in Old Market Place on the evening of Monday, January 15.

Police are treating his death as murder.

Detective Chief Inspector Stewart Miller said: “We are investigating a number of new lines of enquiry and want to thank the public for the response by them in coming forward with information.

“We are still appealing for anyone with information that would help us identify a man we want to speak to in connection with the assault.

“He is described as a white man, aged 20-45 years, with dark rimmed glasses.

“He wore a beige or grey waist length jacket with a peaked hood, which was up. He was also wearing dark trousers and grey or brown trainers.”
