Ford Transit van owners have been warned after nine vehicles were stolen around Lincoln and Lincolnshire.

Thieves then went on to remove their engines and burn out the remains.

Lincolnshire Police warned that the majority of thefts over the past four weeks have been reported in the West Lindsey area, including Caistor, Saxilby and Reepham.

Incidents have also been recorded in North Kesteven, Metheringham, Branston and Lincoln.

A police spokesperson said: “All the vans have been taken overnight by an unknown method before being driven to rural locations.

“The engines have then been removed and the vehicles burnt out.

“We need owners of these vehicles to be extra vigilant and support anything they believe to be suspicious.

“To make a report please call 101.”
