Bus driver hospitalised after crash on A158 near Horncastle

Avoid the area.

A bus driver has been rushed to hospital after a crash involving a double decker and a car on the A158 near Horncastle.

Around 10 bus passengers are also said to be “walking wounded”.

Drivers are facing a road block after the crash at around 3.55pm on Monday, February 12.

Police say the road will remain closed for around four hours.

A force spokesperson said: “The collision involves a Stagecoach double decker bus and a car.

“The driver of the bus has been taken to hospital.

“We believe there are 10 passengers on the bus who are described as walking wounded

“We would ask people to avoid the A158 in the area for the next few hours and will provide further detail when we can.”

Diversions are in place at the time of publishing and traffic is beginning to build in the area.

Traffic is building in the High Toynton area.

Road users at the scene told Lincolnshire Reporter an air ambulance had landed in the area and a section of the road has been closed near to High Toynton.

Another eyewitness said the road was blocked in both directions and that a bus was on its side near to High Toynton.
