Lincoln City will face Shrewsbury in Wembley final

Up the Imps!

Underdogs Lincoln City will play Shrewsbury in their first ever trip to Wembley in the Checkatrade Trophy Final on Sunday, April 8 at 3pm.

Shrewsbury are flying high in second place in League One, the division above the Imps, and Carlton Morris headed in Shaun Whalley’s corner to give them a 1-0 win over Yeovil in the semi-final.

As previously reported, the Imps reached the Wembley showpiece with a 4-2 penalty shootout victory after their semi-final against Chelsea’s Under-21s ended 1-1 after extra time.

Lincoln were also in action on Tuesday night as substitute Ollie Palmer’s injury time goal rescued a 1-1 draw at Mansfield, although the Imps saw Luke Waterfall sent off after an incident during the goal celebrations.

Mansfield were also reduced to 10 men late on as Rhys Bennett was sent off for a second bookable offence.

Adult ticket prices for the Wembley final range from £21 to £64 and more details on purchasing tickets and travel can be found here.

Season ticket holders already started snapping up tickets and online sales to non-season ticket holders opened at 7pm on Tuesday.

The overall ticket sales total already reached 20,000.

Tickets will be on sale over the counter at Sincil Bank from Friday, March 9, between 10am and 3pm, but there will be no telephone sales for this fixture.
