Over £1,000 raised! Lincoln houseboat theft victim “very grateful”

In tribute to Lincolnians’ generosity, Sean will rename the boat the ‘Lincoln Cockney Rose’

The owner of a houseboat that was trashed by vandals has said that he is “very grateful” after Lincoln raised £1,085 to help with the repairs.

Sean Chambers, 23, found his narrowboat ransacked after thieves stole the Cockney Rose from Saxilby and took it for a joyride.

As previously reported, Sean had been at work when the houseboat was taken and has been forced to find temporary accommodation.

In response, horrified local residents set up a GoFundMe page with a £300 goal.

Generous people almost quadrupled the target, donating £1,085 on the fundraising page, which has since been closed down.

As thanks for all of the help, Sean says he will rename the boat as the ‘Lincoln Cockney Rose’.

There have been no arrests made at this stage.

Lincolnshire Police are investigating under incident number 473 of April 16. Anyone with information should call 101 quoting the incident number.
