33-home development proposed for village near Brigg

A percentage would be allocated as affordable housing.

A residential development of 33 new homes has been proposed for a village near Brigg.

Happy Days Farming Company submitted the application to North Lincolnshire Council for land north of Carr Lane in Worlaby.

The developer is seeking full planning permission for a mixture of affordable homes and properties to be sold on the open market.

Permission is also being sought for public open space, cycleways, pedestrian footpaths and a cyclists’ car park.

Cycle and footpath access is proposed for both Carr Lane and Low Road.

Under the plans, a mixture of two, three, four and five bedroom homes would be built.

The applicant said in a design and access statement that the proposals would help contribute to the local housing supply.

They said: “This proposed development is considered to respond to key needs and objectives identified in the development plan documents and national policy.

“It provides affordable homes to meet unmet need, enhanced sustainable transport linkages and provides a meaningful contribution to the council’s deliverable housing supply.”
