The Côte Brasserie restaurant on Lincoln High Street has closed without warning after just two years.
Moving vans arrived to gut the building on the morning of Tuesday, April 24 after the chain closed its doors suddenly.
Côte opened in February 2016 after a £1 million investment and refit to cater for up to 200 people. It employed around 50 staff.
The restaurant offered customers Parisian-style breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, set over two floors including a large heated garden.
The Facebook page was taken down over the weekend, leaving many disappointed customers questioning the business’ future.
It’s the latest in a line of businesses to open and close in the building in the last few years.
Before Côte, it had operated as Craft bar and kitchen. Craft opened in 2013 after the closure of the Dogma nightclub.
