Live: Flying Scotsman passing through Lincolnshire today

Follow the Scotsman’s journey through Lincolnshire.

The world-famous Flying Scotsman is due to steam through Lincolnshire today on its way to Scarborough.

The sold-out steam locomotive set off from London Kings Cross in the early hours of the morning and is due to arrive in Spalding at around 10.15am, though timings are subject to change.

The train was was designed by Sir Nigel Gresley and built in Doncaster. It was the first engine of the newly-formed London and North Eastern Railway in 1923.

It was named the Flying Scotsman after the London-to-Edinburgh rail service which started in 1862.
