Three Lincolnshire Lloyds Bank branches to close

The banks will close in Lincolnshire as part of the move.

Three Lloyds Bank branches in Lincolnshire will close down as part of a national shift from High Street to online services.

Lloyds Banking Group will close its branches in Alford, Coningsby and Mablethorpe this year, along with 46 other branches in the UK.

Specific closing dates have not yet been confirmed by the banking group, though the Mirror Online is reporting 49 Lloyds and Halifax branches will close between July and October.

A total of 305 jobs will be at risk in the move, however 925 new roles will be opened up in the ‘online branch’ network.

The banking provider has put the closures down to a change in customer behaviour and a reduction in the number of face to face interactions in branches.

A statement from the bank reads: “Lloyds Banking Group is today announcing 305 role reductions, mainly across our branch network, in addition to some other central functions.

“The changes in roles are in line with our plan to adapt to and meet the changing needs of our customers and as a result we also today announcing the creation of 925 new roles.

“These new roles form part of the £3 billion commitment we have made over the course of our next strategic plan to focus strongly on technology and people, equipping teams with the specific skills to advise and support our customers.”
