Travel chaos around Lincoln A46 after two crashes

Avoid the area if you can.

Two crashes have caused significant tailbacks on the A46 in the Hykeham area.

Lincolnshire Police, ambulance and fire crews are in attendance in the Whisby area with some sections of roads closed on the afternoon of Friday, April 13.

Lincolnshire Police said at around 3.30pm that they were at the scene of two collisions, one involving two cars at the junction with Moor Lane on the A46 and the other near to Thorpe on the Hill, heading towards Lincoln.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to release one casualty from each of the cars.

They also gave casualty care until the arrival of ambulance crews.

Drivers are being told to avoid the area.

At the time of writing, details of vehicles involved and ongoing road closures are not known.

Lincolnshire Police have not yet responded to enquiries.

It is not know if anyone has been injured.
