Brave 13-year-old calls 999 during burglary

Armed police were called to the scene

A 13-year-old boy from Deeping St James has been praised by Lincolnshire Police Force Control for making a crucial 999 call during an aggravated burglary.

Three men reportedly forced their way into a property in the town at around 11pm on May 23 and armed police were called to respond.

Police say money was taken during the break-in.

Force Control operator Sam, wrote on the FCR twitter account: “Just taken a 999 call from THE most amazing 13-year-old. Dealt with an emergency situation better than some adults would!

“My job was made so much easier by this young man being so calm! I really hope his parents are proud because I am.”

“If this is the incident we were first on scene to it must have been horrifying.” replied the Lincolnshire Police Armed Response team

Police are asking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious, including any suspicious vehicles, in the area of Deeping St James in the last seven days, to contact Lincolnshire Police on 101 quoting incident 422 of 23 May.
