Collection for Syrian refugees a success

“Thanks to all who donated”

Clothing, blankets and toiletries gathered as part of Compassionate Lincoln’s drive to support refugees have been collected, sorted and shipped to Syria.

Altogether, enough items were donated by people in Lincoln to fill two vans. They are now being loaded into shipping containers where they will be sent to a towns recently freed from so-called Islamic State.

Holly Munro, collection organiser, said: “Thanks to everyone who came and donated to the Syrian refugee collection on Saturday.

“We couldn’t be prouder as a city that Lincoln turned out in the numbers to send so much love.”
