Man seriously injured after A1 crash

The road will be closed for some time.

A man was seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash on the A1 near Newark, which caused significant delays.

The injured male was taken to Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham following the collision on the A1 southbound.

Police officers rushed to the scene at 8.55am on Thursday, May 10, after three vehicles crashed on the A1 southbound.

One of the vehicles involved was a lorry, police said.

Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service were also on the scene confirmed on Twitter that a 42-year-old woman was rescued.

A spokesperson for Nottingham Police said they expect the road to be closed for “some time”.
