Police raid at Lincoln flats connected to arrest

Police raid at accommodation

Police were seen raiding a property on Picton Street near to the University of Lincoln campus this afternoon.

At least two vans pulled up at Raglan House off the Tritton Road roundabout just after 1pm on Wednesday, May 23.

The raid came just after a man was arrested by armed police near to the University of Lincoln library on the Brayford campus.

One student in the area said they had seen police removing a number of items from accommodation.

Lincolnshire Police confirmed that the raid and earlier arrest coordinated by Nottinghamshire Police were connected.

Although the built-up area is predominantly made up of student housing, there are also a number of private homes on Picton Street.

They also responded to social media reports that the arrested man had been carrying a weapon. They confirmed this was not the case.

Nottinghamshire Police told The Lincolnite the operation was ongoing and that more information would be released later.
