Repairs for worn-out Morton road

Roadworks for your diary

Drivers in Morton near Bourne will face overnight road closures for repair works.

C214 Front Street will be resurfaced from Monday, June 18 and is expected to be completed on Friday, June 22.

The road will be closed between 7.30pm and 6am each evening.

During those hours, traffic will be diverted via the A159 and through Laughton to Laughton Road, Walkerith Road and Crooked Billet Street.

Mark Heaton, programme manager – surfacing and patching at Lincolnshire County Council, said: “This road has suffered a lot of wear and tear over the years, and needs to be repaired.

“After the resurfacing works, it will be a smooth surface and last for a number of years.

“In order to keep disruption to a minimum, we’ll be carrying out the works overnight. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and would encourage drivers to use alternative routes where possible.”
