Royal wedding events in Lincolnshire

The big day is almost upon us.

The big day is almost upon us. This Saturday Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will be tying the knot at Windsor Castle, but you don’t have to travel that far to find a place to celebrate.

There’s plenty to see and do right here in Lincolnshire.


Lincoln Castle Lawn Party

Brings flags and plenty of patriotic spirit as Lincoln Castle throws its very own lawn party. The royal wedding will be projected onto a big screen for everyone to see and the castle’s cafe will be offering special Royal Wedding themed treats.


Boultham Park Opening Celebrations

After five years the £4 million Heritage Lottery Funded Boultham Park Restoration Project in Lincoln is coming to an end. To celebrate the park will be screening both the Royal Wedding and the FA Cup final.

A range of food vendors will also be on hand, as well as musicians performing live music. The putting green and tennis courts will also be open to the public, allowing patron a chance to enjoy some of the nations favourite past times. The Checkatrade Trophy, which Lincoln City won in April, will also be making an appearance.


Royal celebrations at Belton House

A day of English country garden celebrations. Guests will have the chance to play hook-a-duck or test their royal knowledge with a quiz. A big screen will also be broadcasting live from Windsor all day.

Little ones will have the chance to take part in a royal fancy dress competition wit a procession at 3pm of their handmade crowns . There will also be a decorated cake competition, love letters activity and space for picnics.


East Coast Beach and Watersports Festival

Grovesnor Hotel in Skegness is promising an afternoon of extreme kitesurfing by some of nation’s best athletes all along the seafront. Alongside the breath taking displays, there will also be a performance by Team Extreme – a group of BMX riders hoping to compete in the Tokyo 2020 olympics. In the evening there will be a traditional festival party with live bands on the beach.

Royal Wedding fans can take a break from all the action inside the hotel, where patrons can enjoy afternoon tea whilst watching the royal couple on the big screen.


St Barnabas Lipstick and Champagne Charity Ball

Celebrate the royal wedding in style at the St Barnabas Lipstick and Champagne Charity Ball.  As Harry and Megan celebrate their own wedding reception, guests at this charity ball will be treat to a drink reception and three course meal.

There will also be music performed throughout the evening by Lincolnshire function band Starstruck Live. Their setlist contains something for everyone, from 60s classics to modern-day chart toppers.

As part of a national effort to combat homelessness, musicians in Scunthorpe will be coming together to take part in a special fundraising gig.

The three bands and five solo artists taking part are all part of Musicians Against Homelessness, who are hosting the gigs as a response to the decision to move homeless people out of Windsor during the wedding celebrations.
