Signalling fault disrupts Grantham commuters

Services on the route have been delayed for up to 60 minutes and in some cases even cancelled.

A fault with the signalling system on the East Coast Main Line is causing major delays for commuters between Doncaster and Grantham.

Services on the route have been delayed for up to 60 minutes and in some cases even cancelled.

According to National Rail, the issue is with the signalling system between Retford and Newark and commuters can use the hashtag #Retford to keep an eye on the situation.

The disruption is affecting Grand Central, Hull Trains and Virgin Trains on the route. It is expected to continue until the end of service.

Rail replacement transport is in place, provided by Travel Wright, running from Newark North Gate to Retford then Retford to Grantham.

Passengers have have been affected by the disruption are able to claim for compensation, but will have to keep hold of their ticket and make a note of their journey. More details can be found on the National Rail website.
