What would you do with a public loo?

As long as they remain open to the public, tenants can doo-doo what ever they want.

What would you do with a public loo? That’s a question North East Lincolnshire Council is asking people willing to spend a penny to lease these public toilets.

Located on Cleethorpes Boating Lake and coming with more than 400 square metres of grounds, proposals dunny have to be bog standard.

As long as the public toilets remain open to the public, tenants can doo-doo what ever they want.

North East Lincolnshire council is privy to a number of successful loo renovations across the world, including a public toilet turned florist that comes up smelling roses in London and a WC that doubles as a tornado shelter for when things hit the fan in Missouri.

Councillor Peter Wheatley, portfolio holder responsible for assets, said: “The area’s other public toilets were put out to tender last year and a contract will be offered soon to the successful bidder.

“We’re marketing the Boating Lake toilets separately and we see this is a great opportunity for a private company, charity or community group to step in and give them a new lease of life.”
