Extra Lincoln lane closure this weekend

Extra closures this weekend

A further lane closure on will be in place on Outer Circle Road across the whole weekend as work continues to widen a well-used junction.

As previously reported, resurfacing works along Outer Circle Road and Wragby Road will lead to a number of night-time closures over the next to weeks.

The latest southbound lane closure to be announced will take effect from 6am on Saturday, June 2 until 8pm on Sunday, June 3.

Lincolnshire County Council said: “This will allow third parties time to continue carrying out works, including utility diversions, before the road is reinstated.”

The six months of roadworks reached their midway point earlier this month, with the next set of works taking place between Tuesday, May 29 and Thursday, June 7 from 8pm until 5pm Monday to Friday.

The work includes creating longer lanes along Outer Circle Road on the approach to Wragby Road.

It also involves widening the Wragby Road carriageway between Wolsey Way and Outer Circle Road to accommodate four lanes (two westbound and two eastbound).

The project is being funded using part of the £5.4million allocated to the authority by the Department of Transport from its National Productivity Investment Fund.
