144 home plan for South Hykeham

More than 140 homes in South Hykeham

Plans have been submitted for a development of 144 homes in South Hykeham.

The proposals have been lodged to North Kesteven District Council and would see housing built on land at Thorpe Lane.

Outline permission for the site is being sought by applicants Taylor Lindsey Limited and Pennells Holdings Limited.

Although the site falls under the Central Lincolnshire Local Plan, it is not specifically allocated for housing.

The development would include a mixture of homes, including apartments, terraced, semi-detached and detached houses.

Under the proposals, 12 one bedroom apartments, 25 two bedroom semi-detached and terraced houses and 30 three bedroom semi-detached houses would be built.

36 three bedroom and 41 four bedroom detaches houses are also proposed.

As part of the application, two new access points are proposed for the development from Thorpe Lane.

A quarter of the homes would be allocated for affordable housing in line with the council’s planning policy.

In a design and access statement, the developer said that the proposed development would provide quality housing for the local area.

They said: “The scheme represents efficient use of a sustainable site within an area of residential character and will provide quality mixed housing.

“The application site and proposals represent a sustainable development with good public transport, local services, employment opportunities and facilities readily available.”
