Alleged gang attack leaves man with serious head injury

The victim remains in hospital

Update: Lincolnshire Police confirmed on Wednesday, June 6 that the 17-year-old has been released under investigation.


Two men have been arrested after a man in his 30s was attacked in Mablethorpe.

The victim was left with a serious head injury due to the alleged assault by a group of youths on Sunday.

The assault happened during a row with a group of about six youths in an alleyway in the Victoria Road/Admiralty Road area of Mablethorpe at around 1am on Sunday, June 3.

A 22-year-old from Sutton-on-Sea was arrested on Sunday and released under investigation.

A 17-year-old, also from Sutton-on-Sea, was arrested today (June 4) and is currently assisting officers with the enquiry, police said.

The victim remains in Grimsby Hospital where he was taken with serious injuries and police are treating the incident as suspected Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH).

Police are appealing for any witness in the Victoria Road/Admiralty Road area of Mablethorpe between about 12.30am and 1.30am to contact 101 or email [email protected] quoting incident 31 of June 3.
