Almost 40 new homes for the area
South Holland district councillors are expected to approve a 38 home residential development in Gosberton.
An outline application was submitted by the Executors of Queenie Dennis for the site off Spalding Road.
The land lies behind the grade-II listed Gosberton Baptist Church and the council’s planning officers have recommended approval of the plan.
Permission is being sought for outline plans for the development along with access to the site.
Members of South Holland District Council’s planning committee will consider the application at a meeting on June 13.
No objections have been made by any council department but a request of education and healthcare contributions is to be made should approval be granted.
The applicant will also be expected to provide a quarter of the 38 homes proposed to affordable housing in the event of the plans being given the go ahead.
Gosberton Parish Council offered no comments on the application when consulted.
However, residents in the village supported a reduction in the 50mph speed limit on Spalding Road where the site would be accessed.
In a design and access statement, the developer said that the proposed development would help benefit the local area.
They said: “The proposal will contribute towards the growth needs identified for Gosberton and assist in the delivery of the Council’s five-year housing supply.
“There are no technical issues that would prevent the site from coming forward.”
