Police in Scunthorpe roof stand-off

Police are trying to get the man down safely

Update: Humberside Police confirmed the man who took to the roof has come down safely and he has been arrested and remains in custody.


Police and dog units have closed off an area in Scunthorpe in an apparent stand-off with a man, believed to be wanted, on the roof of a property

Humberside Police confirmed that emergency services are in Conway Square, in Scunthorpe, and the area has been cordoned off to ensure the safety of the public and those involved in the operation.

Specially trained officers have been deployed and police said they are working closely with the man in order to bring him down safely.

Police are advising people to avoid the area until the incident has concluded.

Facebook page Scunthorpe Life told Lincolnshire Reporter: “The areas around Avenue Vivian and Highcliff Avenue are still cordoned off.

“There’s a large police presence including dog units and armed police. The situation is ongoing.”
