Several injured in serious Lincolnshire border crash

The road is closed both ways

At least 16 people have been injured after a serious crash involving a lorry and a double-decker bus close to the Lincolnshire border.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and Magpas sent a doctor and paramedic in an Air Ambulance rapid response vehicle to the A47 near Guyhirn at 7.58am on Tuesday, June 26.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the scene with at least 16 people transported to Peterborough City Hospital or Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kings Lynn.

Magpas Air Ambulance Critical Care paramedic Dan Read, who attended the scene with Magpas Doctor Lee Soomaroo, said: “We worked very closely alongside the emergency services at the scene.

“We also assisted the EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crews with help to manage this very complex incident. We can’t praise the EEAST Ambulance Service enough for their excellent team work”.

The EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crews, Hazardous Area Response Teams (HART), Cambridgeshire Police and the Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance.

Road closures and diversions

AA Traffic is reporting that the road is closed both ways between B1167 New Cut and A141 March Road.

Detour in operation – A47 eastbound diversion: A1139 south towards Parnwell, then join the A605 east towards Fletton Interchange, continuing east to re-join the A47. Reverse for westbound traffic.
