Moor Lane in North Hykeham will be closed for the entire school summer holiday while Cadent Gas carries out upgrades in the area.
The road will be closed between the Mill Lane/Lincoln Road junction and the junction with Ravensmoor Close.
Work will start on July 23 and is due to be finished by September 2.
In this time, the road will be closed to vehicles, although access is available for businesses, residents and pedestrians.

Some 300 meters of old iron pipes, installed in the 60s, will be torn out on the road and replaced with new pipes that should last until the end the end of the century
Cadent Authorising Engineer Paul Martin said: “It’s important we invest in new gas pipes so that local people can continue enjoy safe and reliable gas supplies for decades to come.
“Closing Moor Lane is the safest way we can do the work as the pipes cut across the road.
“We will maintain access for residents and there will be a diversion route for through traffic via Newark Road, Hykeham Road then and Lincoln Road. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
“We’ve planned the work for the school holidays to minimise disruption. We’re aiming to finish it as soon as we can. Once the new pipes are in the ground we won’t need to come back and renew them until at least the end of the century.”
Cadent Gas warn that during the work gas may need to be shut off although those affected will be informed beforehand.
