The King arrives to film at Lincoln Cathedral

Is this Lincoln or Hollywood?

Lincoln Cathedral was used as a film set on Monday for upcoming Netflix movie The King.

Set to be released in 2019, the film stars Oscar-nominated Timothee Chalamet, Joel Edgerton, Lily-Rose Depp and Robert Pattinson.

The period drama is directed by David Michôd and Brad Pitt is listed as one of the producers.

Although few details about what is being filmed have leaked, it’s very likely Lincoln Cathedral was used as a double for Westminster Abbey for Henry V’s coronation.

Henry V (played by Chalamet) was crowned in 1413 at Westminster Abbey.

Lincoln Cathedral was also used as a stand-in for Westminster Abbey in 2006 for The Da Vinci Code starring Tom Hanks.

The filming crews will be packing up on Tuesday and move to Bakewell in the Peak District and then to Budapest in Hungary.
