Wainfleet roadworks start on Saturday

The works should take nine days

Drivers in Wainfleet will face over a week of road closures and diversions due to works starting on Saturday.

A worn out carriageway on the B1195 Station Road/Boston Road will be replaced from Saturday, June 30.

The total programme of works is expected to last for nine days including weekends, subject to reasonable weather.

A full 24-hour road closure will be in place from 7.30am on Saturday, June 30 for the duration of the works.

The diversion route for the closure is via A52 Wainfleet Bypass to Croft Bank to Skegness Road to St John Street, and vice versa.

‘No parking’ restrictions will also be in place during the works, so residents and visitors should make alternative arrangement to ensure the project can be carried out as planned and without unnecessary delays.

Access to properties will be maintained during the works, but it may be limited depending on where work is taking place.

Programme leader – surfacing and patching at Lincolnshire County Council Mark Heaton said: “This route has suffered a lot of wear and tear over the years, so we’re going in to replace the sections that are beginning to fail.

“We’re doing all we can to get the works done quickly and with as little disruption as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and would encourage drivers to use alternative routes where possible.”
