Police name man found dead in Scunthorpe lake

Police are still investigating the circumstances

The body of a 23-year-old man found in the water at Ashby Ville in Scunthorpe this week has been identified by police.

As previously reported, the body was found in the water near the steel works at the Ashby Ville Nature Reserve in Scunthorpe after police attended the scene at 8.45am on Monday, July 23.

The body has been identified by Humberside Police as Maciej Dymowski from Scunthorpe.

Humberside Police said: “We are still investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.

“There has been some speculation that his death may have been caused by the blue green algae outbreak but at this stage we cannot say that this was a factor.”
