Risehome College CEO takes on principal role

He says that students should “follow their dreams”

A new principal and has been appointed at Riseholme College and says that he wants students to “follow their dreams.”

Bill Meredith was announced as the new chief executive and principal after covering both roles on an interim basis for the past ten months.

The former Deputy Principal steps up after a robust selection process which saw a number of strong candidates from colleges across the county apply.

Mr Meredith said: “I’m incredibly proud. It’s a really important role regionally and, to and extent, nationally. I appreciate there are challenges ahead but I do feel I’ve got a really strong team here.

“I’d ask students to just be positive and embrace that ‘can do’ attitude that we expect of all our students and staff. It comes more naturally to some than others, but I think that is a good lesson for everyone.

“We want our students to aspire to be the best they can be, to flow their dreams and achieve their full potential.

The college, on the outskirts of Lincoln, was praised for being a “high achieving college” during its last Ofsted inspection early last year, when it achieved an overall rating of ‘good’.

Judy Richmond, chair of governors, oversaw Mr Meridith’s appointment and said: “I am delighted Bill has been selected as the new Chief Executive and Principal of Bishop Burton College and Riseholme College.

“He did an excellent job in the interim role and the selection panel is confident that Bill is the right person to steer the college into the future.”
