Thunderstorm warning issued for Lincolnshire

Beware flash flooding and lightning strikes

The Met Office has issued a weather warning for thunderstorms across the whole of Lincolnshire at the end of the week.

The yellow warning is in place between 2pm and 11.45pm on Friday, July 27.

The weather warning applies to much of the east of the county: Met Office

Forecasters say scattered thunderstorms are possible during this time and “there is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds.

“Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services.”

They added: “There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.”
