The seventh Woodhall Spa 1940s Festival returns to the Lincolnshire village this weekend with a variety of activities, musical performances and stalls.
Woodhall Spa 1940s Festival and Thorpe Camp 1940s Weekend will for one year only take place on the same weekend – July 7 and 8.
There is parking and free transport between the two locations so visitors will have a chance to attend both events.

Events
There is a full range of events taking place across the festival weekend throughout each day.
Living History in the Park– at Jubilee Park from 9am on both days there will be a wide variety of WW2 Living History Groups covering the Home Front and service overseas.
1940’s Trade Fayre– at Jubilee Park from 9am on both days there will be a selection of 40’s themed stalls selling everything from bowler hats to bicycles.
If you go down to the woods today – at The Pinewoods from 9am on both days there will be a variety of WW2 Living History Groups camped and demonstrating in the woods.
Pre-1950 Vehicle Rally – at The Broadway from 9am on both days there will be several vehicles on display.
Thorpe Camp 1940’s Weekend – at Thorpe Camp Visitors Centre. From 10am on both days the centre will be hosting a range of trade stalls and entertainment. A regular bus service will be operating between the Centre and Woodhall Spa.
Peace Exhibition – From 10am to 4pm on the Saturday (and 12pm-4pm on Sunday) there will be an exhibition of a mixture of paintings from “Painting for Pleasure Group” and flowers decorating the church. Entry is by donation in aid of the church.
Musical entertainment at the Museum– From 11am on both days at Woodhall Spa Cottage Museum there will be musical entertainment, with Heather Marie, Rachel Be a and Winston Churchill on the Saturday. Rachel Bea, Phil Meadows and Winston Churchill will star on Sunday.
Angie entertains from 11am on both days Angie will entertain the grounds of the Conservative Club, with an outside bar and hog roast.
40s Bandstand Concert – From 11am on both days at Jubilee Park there will be hours of free 40’s music entertainment during the daytime from a variety of artists. Jubilee Park’s Dads Army Bar will be open from 10am-10pm.

40s Concert at the Petwood – From 11am on both days at Petwood Hotel there will be a variety of musical entertainment.
40s Concert at the Golf – From 11am on both days at The Golf Hotel & Aqua Sante Spa there will be free non-stop music and dance in the grounds.
40s Concert at the ‘Inn’ – From 11am on both days at The INN there will be a variety of musical performances.
Music at the Tea House – From midday on both days there will be musical entertainment at the Tea House.
Military Re-enactment – From 1pm on both days at Pinewoods the Crossing of the Rhine will be commemorated with a skirmish in the woods. There will be simulated gunfire so it may not be suitable for children and pets.

Tea Dance – At 2pm on both days at Woodhall Spa Coronation Trust there will be afternoon vintage tea, dancing, raffle prizes and entertainment from Major Swing accompanied by Kitty.
Best Dressed Competition Final– At 3.30pm in Royal Square on both days Nikki Barnard (Vintique) is running the 1940’s Best Dressed Competition.

Parking
Car parks will open at 8am and close at 7pm on both days of the festival.
A frequent Park and Ride bus service will be operated from each of the car parks.
The buses will commence their service at 9am and run on a continual basis to and from the Village throughout both days of the Festival.
The cost for all the car parks, including a park and ride service, is just £7 per vehicle for the whole day if booking and pre-booking is conducted online.
