Elderly woman flown to hospital after serious A17 crash

Four people were injured.

A woman in her 80s has been airlifted to hospital and three others have been injured in a crash on the A17 near Boston.

As reported previously, police closed the road at Swineshead following the collision at around 12.15pm on Wednesday, August 29.

The crash happened near to Ivy’s Farm Shop and involved a white Mercedes-Benz van and a silver Citroen Xsara.

Police, Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue and East Midlands Ambulance Service and air ambulance crews rushed to the scene.

Officials are yet to confirm the seriousness of the injuries sustained by the elderly woman.

The three other casualties are thought to have suffered minor injuries.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said: “A road closure has been put in place so please find alternative routes where possible.

“Witnesses to this collision should call 101 as soon as possible quoting incident 186 of today.”
