Clicks to bricks: Lincoln entrepreneur opens first furniture showroom

The new store has created six new jobs in the local area

A local entrepreneur has opened an oak furniture showroom after the “massive success” of his online store.

Oak Furniture Direct was launched as an e-commerce business at the end of January and has gone from strength to strength.

Now, the family furniture company has invested around £100,000 to transform the business from online-only to bricks and mortar and created six new jobs in the local area.

Vishal Sharma is the founder of Oak Furniture Direct and told The Lincolnite: “I’ve worked in the furniture industry since leaving university and have worked with one of the major high street names for seven years.

“I felt that I could offer a better quality product at a better price. My aim was to avoid outsourcing and seek out British manufacturing.

“We aim for bespoke manufacturing without bespoke prices. I grew up in Lincoln, so it made sense to open the Oak Furniture Direct showroom here.”

Oak Furniture Direct has plans to open a distribution warehouse at the end of the year to create a further 12 jobs in the area.
