The inquest will be opened by SPG Fisher

An inquest will open this week into the death Marie Gibson who was allegedly murdered by her partner at her home in the Lincolnshire market town of Louth.

As previously reported, Shane Murphy is accused of the murder of 35-year-old Marie Gibson after her body was discovered when police was called to her home in Lacey Gardens in Louth on Saturday, June 9.

The inquest at Lincoln Coroners Court will be opened by SPG Fisher on Tuesday, August 7.

Murphy, 27, of Little Lane, Louth, previously appeared at Lincoln Magistrates Court wearing a grey short-sleeved T-shirt and grey jogging bottoms.

He spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address during a three-minute hearing and a trial date was set for December 10.

No charge was put to Murphy during the brief hearing and he was remanded in custody to appear back in court for a plea and trial preparation hearing, which is due to be held on October 5.
