Two in court as Lincoln stabbing victim named

The two men did not enter a plea at court

Two teenagers have appeared in court in connection with the the stabbing of a man in Lincoln.

Police also claim one of the accused arranged a get-away and to burn the clothes of his accomplice.

The victim, named by police as Ben Swainsbury, was hospitalised with serious stabbing injuries following the attack on Napier Street on August 15.

Harley Steven Robinson, 18, from Cadogan Avenue, Kinston Upon Hull and Joseph Thomas McMaster, 19, from St Johns Road, Grove, Wantage were arrested by police and both were charged with offences relating to the attack.

Both appeared before Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on August 18.

Robinson was charged with maliciously wounding the victim with the intent to do him grievous bodily harm on August 15.

He was also charged with being found in possession of a large kitchen knife on August 16.

McMaster was charged with attempting to impede prosecution. Police claim he arranged to burn Robinson’s clothes and arrange his transportation.

The two men did not enter a plea for the offences they were charged with, and are awaiting trial at Lincoln Crown Court.
