Astronaut and block circus taking over Lincoln High Street

The events are both free

An Urban Astronaut performance and Block’s dance and circus fusion will entertain people in Lincoln for free this weekend.

On Saturday, September 29, Highly Strung will present their unique outdoor performance, which combines aerial circus, dance and stunning design travelling through the High Street on a 20 foot high flying machine.

At the same time a lone woman dances on Cornhill Square waiting and through simple storytelling and moving dance performance ‘Urban Astronaut’ searches for a solution to the environmental disaster present in the near future.

The answer is found in a simple encounter with a young girl who provides the one thing the astronaut has lost…hope.

The event runs at 12.30pm and 2.30pm for 30 minutes.

Block

A powerful fusion of dance and circus pushing the limits of both art forms will take place on the Cornhill at 11.30am and 2.30pm, each lasting 30 minutes.

Block is about life in the city and its contradictions and challenges as 20 oversized blocks are deconstructed and reformed to create different cityscapes for the performers to play on, move with and explore.

Both events are programmed by LPAC as part of their PopOut Festival 2018.
