Here’s why Lincoln’s Mezze House is closed

The manager has opened a new restaurant in Newark

It only opened in February 2018, but already a Greek restaurant on Lincoln’s High Street has been forced to close.

Manager Charlie Brown, speaking on behalf of the owner Basil Haida, told The Lincolnite that he walked out on August 1 when the Mezze House shut due to a “personal dispute with the building’s landlord”.

Charlie has now opened a £1.2 million new Greek restaurant in Newark called Usta, which means master, where the Greek Steak House on Castle Gate used to be.

He said: “I have a much better landlord now, who owns the Hilton Hotel in Lincoln. He does everything by the book and listens to us.”
