Man’s body found at Lincolnshire circus site

Police confirmed a man has died at the Cleethorpes circus site.

Police cordoned off a circus site in Lincolnshire after a man’s body was found.

Officers were called to the Russells International Circus on Humberston Road, Cleethorpes at around 7.30am on Wednesday, September 19.

A convoy of emergency vehicles rushed to the area in the early hours and officers were seen entering the big top tent.

The road was initially closed, but the cordon has now been scaled back.

East Midlands Ambulance Service paramedics were in attendance but said they took no casualties to hospital.

It’s believed to be an isolated incident, however police said investigations are in the early stages.

Russells Circus posted on social media that shows have been cancelled, but would recommence on Thursday.

A Humberside Police spokesperson said: “We are in attendance in the Humberstone Road area following the report of a sudden death of a man at nearby premises.

“We received a call just before 7.30am today. Our officers are on the scene and enquiries are in their very early stages at this time.”
