Bomb disposal unit in Lincoln after hand grenade found

When you clear your shed and you find a grenade

A bomb disposal unit was sent into Lincoln on Wednesday after reports of a hand grenade being found at a property in the city.

Eyewitness Robert Boultwood contacted The Lincolnite after spotting a bomb disposal unit van driving towards north Lincoln from a roundabout on the A46 with its blue lights on.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police confirmed to The Lincolnite why the bomb disposal unit were in the area and offered reassurance that there was no danger.

The spokesperson said: “Incident 246 was reported to us at 3.26pm after a report of a hand grenade being found while a shed was being cleared out at a residential property on Burton Road.

“The EOD attended at around 5pm and confirmed it was inert and posed no threat.”
